Aydin Displays Sees Record Bookings and Backlog for Fiscal Year

ATLANTA, Mar 8, 2010 -- Video Display Corporation (VIDE ), an internationally recognized leader in design and manufacture of specialty niche market and rugged displays for commercial, industrial and military requirements, announced that its Aydin Displays, Inc., subsidiary has set new records for the Company's recently completed fiscal year end in both bookings and backlog. With the receipt of previously announced and yet to be announced contracts, Aydin has procured record order bookings during its fiscal year ended February 28, 2010.

"Despite the downturn of the U.S. economy in general, fiscal 2010 has been our best year by far for bookings, breaking our previous record by a double digit percentage. Aydin's B to B (book to bill ratio) for the recently finished year exceeded 1.6:1, which assures Aydin of substantial growth in revenue in the upcoming fiscal year," according to Art Mengel, President of Aydin Displays. "We are in the early stages of benefiting from production contracts being released for products and programs that Aydin has been working on for several years. As a result of these bookings, Aydin enters this new fiscal year with a record backlog of orders that are scheduled for delivery during our 2/28/2011 fiscal year. (Birdsboro, PA) is pleased to announce two new sales representatives- Medeos SRL (Milano, Italy) has been appointed as its exclusive sales representative in Italy, and McTech International as the exclusive representative in Japan. Additionally, Aydin has appointed two new distribution partners- MiTAC (Taiwan) and Semicom (South Korea). With the addition of these firms, Aydin continues to broaden its scope of providing quality rugged displays throughout the world. Aydin now has representation and distribution in Russia, France, Australia, Israel, as well as broad areas throughout Europe and South America. Additional countries will soon be added.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Video Display Corporation (NASDAQ:VIDE announces that its Aydin Displays Inc. subsidiary has been awarded a multiple-year contract by General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Fairfax, Va., to supply the U.S. Navy with 24-inch rugged flat panel monitors for the Common Displays System (CDS) Program.

The contract will provide Aydin displays for the Navy’s CDS consoles in support of the DDG and Aegis Modernization. CDS is a family of displays that will be implemented across platform systems on Navy surface ships, submarines, and aircraft. CDS is designed to meet open architecture and open business model requirements with minimized lifecycle costs that will ensure its interoperability and the ability to handle frequent updates of the latest technology. The CDS product family consists of a series of display configurations based on standardized interchangeable components. The CDS displays also provide a robust capability to meet the Navy’s current and future needs for open systems, security features and cost effectiveness. CDS systems have an intended service life of 30 years.

For this part of the CDS program, Aydin will provide General Dynamics with a 24-inch 4424 Rugged Flat Panel Display, specifically designed to meet the stringent shock, vibration, EMI, and temperature requirements of the U.S. Navy while providing superior visual performance under all conditions. The design and qualification of the displays is scheduled to be completed in early 2009, with production orders commencing shortly thereafter.

Aydin Displays Receives AS9100B Certification

ATLANTA-- (BUSINESS WIRE)—May 11, 2009— Video Display Corporation (NASDAQ:VIDE) announces that its Aydin Displays Inc. subsidiary has achieved AS9100B certification. Aydin Displays received the stringent AS9100B certification for its Quality Management System (QMS). AS9100B certification, which verifies that the company's processes related to design and manufacture of its products have met or exceeded the required standard, is increasingly required by aerospace suppliers’ world-wide.

Along with this certification, Aydin Displays will now be included in the OASIS database. The OASIS database is an international database used by the aerospace industry for selecting certified suppliers. According to John Taylor, Quality Control Manager for Aydin Displays, “This certification represents a significant milestone for Aydin and its commitment to meet its customer’s growing needs.
